As early adopters of sustainability throughout our business operations, we adhere to a comprehensive, integrated sustainability policy and implementation framework: that helps us maintain the long-term viability, profitability, and integrity of Aitken Spence by identifying, managing, and controlling our social, environmental, and economic impacts.
We are guided by global benchmarks, best practices, along with local and global development priorities including the Sustainable Development Goals. Our sustainability efforts are led by a team representing all strategic business units within our Group. Through our organic adoption of a sustainable work culture, systemic interventions and voluntary adherence to standards such as the UN Global Compact, Women's Empowerment Principles, and Global Reporting Initiative’s frameworks, we have received Sri Lanka's Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award for three consecutive years. Furthermore, we have the unique distinction of being ranked among the Top 10 Corporate Citizens in Sri Lanka for an unprecedented 17 consecutive years.
