Dunsinane Estate of Elpitiya Plantations PLC Recognised at the Presidential Environment Awards 2026

Dunsinane Estate, which is a part of Elpitiya Plantations PLC, received a Merit Award in the Tea Processing Industries category at the Presidential Environment Awards 2026, held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The award was presented to Mr Asela Udumulla, General Manager – Up Country, Elpitiya Plantations PLC, by Professor Tilak Hewawasam, Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority. Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya attended the ceremony as Chief Guest.

Organised by the Central Environmental Authority, the awards recognise contributions to environmental conservation and the promotion of sustainable practices across Sri Lanka. This achievement highlights Dunsinane Estate’s continuous commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable tea processing.
