| Tackling Climate Change |
| |
Climate Change is arguably the most significant issue facing mankind at present. Scientific studies have proven that climate change is largely the result of emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion and changes in land use, such as deforestation.
Its implications for food, disease and life in general could be enormous. By incorporating environmental sustainability in the Millennium Development Goals, the UN is working towards building a global partnership in responding to environmental challenges such as climate change.
We believe climate change should not be viewed just an environmental problem. Businesses may tackle climate change in their sphere of influence by increasing energy efficiency, diversifying energy consumption with renewable energy, and promoting environmental consciousness among its employees.
